Phats & Small performing ''Turn Around & Tonite at the TMF Awards. A British electronic dance music duo formed in Brighton in 1998, consists of Jason "Phats" Hayward and Russell Small. Their breakthrough came with the international hit single "Turn Around" in 1999. The duo's musical journey began with this track, incorporating samples from Toney Lee's "Reach Up" and Change's "The Glow of Love." "Turn Around" swiftly climbed the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number two.

The accompanying debut album, titled "Now Phats What I Small Music," was released in 1999. Featuring singer Ben Ofoedu on tracks like "Feel Good" and "Tonite," the album showcased Phats & Small's distinctive sound. The duo gained further recognition through remixes of notable tracks by Earth, Wind & Fire and Simply Red, solidifying their presence in the electronic music scene.

As their musical evolution continued, Ofoedu left for a solo career, and Tony Thompson took over as the main vocalist for Phats & Small's second album, "This Time Around," released in 2001. The album featured singles like "Change" and "Respect The Cock," co-produced by Jimmy Gomez.

After a hiatus, Phats & Small returned in 2005 with a new vocalist, Ryan Molloy, and the album "Soundtrack to Our Lives," featuring the single "Sun Comes Out" with vocals from both Ofoedu and new female vocalist Carrie Luer.

In 2016, a revamped version of their iconic track "Turn Around" was released, featuring new vocals from Ben Ofoedu. Russell Small's involvement in the production team The Freemasons also contributed to the duo's ongoing influence in the music industry. Beyond their musical pursuits, Small is known for being a fan of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.
