This film is a surprising investigation that lifts the veil on a little-known reality: sand, the most consumed natural resource on the planet, is the object of all kinds of covetousness and is becoming one of the major economic and environmental issues of this century.
Even before fresh water and oil, sand is the most consumed natural resource on the planet. But as a terribly logical consequence of this unbridled exploitation, its limited reserves are now under threat. And, ironically, nature is not always kind: desert sand is unusable because it is unsuitable.
Three quarters of the world's beaches are shrinking and doomed to disappear, victims of erosion or sand smuggling.
