Listen to the difference between Stereo and 8D audio.

The difference between stereo and 8D audio is not the number of channels, or "dimensions", used but rather how the sound is manipulated. Whether it's stereo or 8D it is still just 2 channels or audio.

I created the 8D portion using panners and key frames in Adobe Audition, although most audio editors will be able to achieve this. Using those panners the audio is "swung" in a circle from the left channel to the right and repeated. Using compressors and other filters can help create distance around the "center" and further improve the immersive experience.

If you want to learn about 8D audio you can listen to the Travelear Podcast 203 "What is 8D Audio?"
