Serious Sam 2 Overhaul (Serious 100%) 21/21

Finally some good maps. I've always regarded the last 2 maps of SS2 to be among the best in the franchise and even with all the whacky changes this mod makes, it can't bring down how great these levels are.

I've gushed enough about these levels in my original playthrough so I'll mostly dedicate this to my closing thoughts on the mod itself.

I went into it expecting it to be a brand new SS2 experience with updated weapon models, a return to form with classic enemies, and brand new combat encounters. I got mostly what I expected, but sadly the classic enemies straight up replace SS2 enemies, which makes a lot of fights feel unbalanced. Some fights are much easier and some are much more difficult, and I feel that if the fights were redesigned from scratch with the classic enemies in mind that it would have made the mod more enjoyable.

There's also a lot of small issues that add up to create moments of frustration such as secrets not tagging properly, random crashes to desktop, and levels failing to load because you have your graphics settings turned up too much.

Don't get me wrong, there's still fun to be had and for the first few missions I was stoked to be fighting classic enemies again; there's even changes I love such as enemy health not being changed based on difficulty, and small tweaks to things long time players will appreciate like the hoverfighter variant used in the Elven levels. However, the longer I played, the less I enjoyed it due to the aforementioned issues.

I don't want to sound too critical though because it's obvious Sashex put a lot of time and effort into it, and there were times where everything clicked and I was able to enjoy it.
