Birth of Planet Earth

Scientists now believe that our galaxy is filled with solar systems, including up to a billion planets roughly the size of our own. The film employs advanced, data-driven, cinematic-quality visualizations to explore some of the greatest questions in science today: How did Earth become a living planet in the wake of our solar system’s violent birth? What does its history tell us about our chances of finding other worlds that are truly Earth-like?

Erleben Sie die faszinierende Geschichte des Ursprungs unseres Planeten! Entstanden vor 4,5 Milliarden Jahren aus einer gigantischen Gas- und Staubwolke, ist unsere Erde heute der einzige Planet mit Leben, den wir kennen. Wie kam es dazu und was ist das Besondere an unserer Heimat im Vergleich zu Mars oder Venus? Und wie beeinflusst der Mond das Leben auf der Erde? Wir gehen diesen Fragen nach und versuchen, das »System Erde« mit seinen komplexen Zusammenhängen besser zu verstehen und erfahren, welche Veränderungen direkt oder indirekt auf uns Menschen zurückzuführen sind.
