What is Data Backup and Why is it Important?

Data backup means that in a disaster, your data isn’t actually lost. Watch to learn more about data backup and why it’s important.

Data backup refers to keeping a second -- or third, or fourth -- copy of files and information in a secondary location. This secondary location can be another hard drive in the data center, a completely different building, or in the cloud. Backups provide a means to restore deleted, overwritten, or destroyed files in the case of disasters like hardware malfunctions, hackers, natural disaster, or just user error.
