We are preparing the platform for our wood stove. Our primary source of heat will be an outdoor wood furnace but we also want a wood stove inside the house as a backup. The wood stove and stove pipe both need proper clearance from walls/beams and to be placed on/near a noncombustible surface. This seemingly small project somehow gives the house a more homey feel!
