A horrifying act of sexual abuse, blatantly done in broad daylight. This is just one sexual abuse case where the culprit has been caught; however, there are still many openly roaming out there!
In India, an estimated 99.1% of sexual harassment cases are not reported. Convictions are at 27.2%. Despite several movements and appeals for women empowerment, the situation doesn't seem to have changed. Of course, the presence of social media and easier communication has played a positive role in helping reduce such cases. Even the POSH Act 2013 exists for making workplaces much safer for women.
As Napoleon said, “The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people. But because of the silence of the good people.”
Sexual assault refers to any action that pressures or coerces someone to do something sexually they don't want to do.
What's the difference between sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and rape? These terms are often used interchangeably by the public, and though the concepts are overlapping, there are important distinctions.
But all facts aside, we would like to state that we do not make this short film to bring about a wide positive change. But even if it brings awareness regarding sexual harassment among one single person and compels him to acknowledge the gravity of such horrendous acts, our purpose is fulfilled.
