Wow! The incredible american optimism of the great MGM musicals... In this clip, Bobby Van performs a memorable "Street Dance", from the movie "Small Town Girl" (1953), with the Frank & Rick's version of the song “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive” by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer.
In 1944 this song became very popular after appearing in the film “Here Come the Waves”. The song helped people in the midst of World War II to focus on something other than war, stimulating them into being positive rather than dwelling on the negative, looking for a key to happiness.
