Why You Shouldn't Call 911 to Scare Your Boyfriend

On March 19, 2023, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, a distressing nine one one call was received from a female, urgently requesting an officer's assistance but refusing to provide further information. The call was accompanied by the sounds of a male shouting in the background. In response, officers were promptly dispatched to the location traced through the ping of the female's cell phone.

The female, eventually identified as Kayla, answered the door after repeated knocking on her residence. She stated she had to go to work, and did not have time for the officers. When asked if there was anyone else in the residence, she said no. Shortly after, her boyfriend came out of the residence, believing his girlfriend was being harmed, yelling and with his fists raised. He was tazed by police and Kayla was taken to a squad to be talked to further. She remained uncooperative and was arrested.

Kayla was charged with resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.
