Covid-19 woes dominate messages from children writing to Santa say ‘elves’ at French post office

‘Elves’ working in a post office in Libourne in southwestern France that has been handling Santa’s mail since 1962 are finding Christmas mail this year that is dominated by messages from children who are worried about the coronavirus pandemic. Postal workers said tens of thousands of “Dear Santa” letters that have been pouring in since November 2020, revealed the emotional toll that the pandemic has taken on families around the world.
